Because of the many colorful coral reefs clustered together, a wide variety of tropical fish can also be seen swimming around. In addition to the high biodiversity, the giant coral reefs act as a breakwater and prevent waves from rising, making it a popular snorkeling and diving spot.

It is also possible to go ashore at low tide on the high tide, so it might be a good idea to see the difference in ebb and flow.

Yabiji (Yaebiji)   Yabiji is one of the largest coral reef areas in Japan (25 km in circumference, made up of more than 100 atolls of various sizes) located on Miyako Island, and is designated as a national natural monument. It is located between Miyako Island and Ikema Island, and the surrounding waters are covered with carafes [...].

Naha's beach (where one can swim with the ocean currents)

Yonaha Maehama is called the most beautiful beach in the East, a long white sand beach stretching 7 km to the southwest of Miyako Island. The sight of the white sand sparkling in the reflection of the glaring summer sun is spectacular.

Also, the clarity of the ocean is very high, and you can see the white sand being rolled up through the ocean by the waves. The contrast between the clear blue ocean and the white sand beach is so beautiful that you cannot take your eyes off the beach.

Yonaha Maehama beach is also used as the start and finish line of the All Japan Miyakojima Triathlon, so it is a good place to visit for commemorative photos.

Azuma Heinanazaki

Higashi Heiannazaki is the easternmost cape on Miyako Island, designated as a national historic site and natural monument. The parking lot and promenade are well maintained, allowing visitors to walk around safely. In early spring, you will be impressed by the spectacular view of lily-of-the-valley blooming all around the area.

Also, since it is the easternmost point of the island, you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise view, so it would be nice to visit while feeling the clear early morning air. However, it is very windy, so be careful not to let your hat or other items fly off.
