*According to an agreement with the local fishery cooperative, we ask for a ¥500 cooperation fee for the Churaumi Sea.

Frequently asked questions about this plan

Q. What if the weather is bad?

In the case of the ocean, wind and wave height have a greater impact than rain. The height of the waves at the destination and the height of the waves on the route to and from that destination will have an effect.

As a rule of thumb, if either of these waves reaches 3 meters, it will be impossible to sail.
We communicate with everyone the day before the event, along with the sea conditions and the forecast.

Q. Are shower/changing rooms available?

After the tour, you can use the showers next to the harbor on Ikema Island. There is also a wall where you can change your clothes. Please note that you are basically required to wear a bathing suit at the time of the meeting.

Q. What is the Churaumi Cooperation Fund?

The three fishery cooperatives and diving businesses in Miyakojima City have concluded the "Agreement on Harmonious Use of the Sea Surface in the Miyako Region" for the purpose of contributing to the conservation of the marine environment around Miyakojima City, the promotion of sightseeing diving business and fishery industry, and regional development through mutual understanding and cooperation.

In order to achieve these objectives, we ask for 500 yen per person per day from those who enjoy diving in the waters around Miyakojima City as "Churaumi Cooperation Money".

Q. I heard that I may not be able to participate in the menu due to illness, injury, or my physical condition that day.

Please consult your doctor in advance if you are currently visiting a hospital or taking medication on a regular basis.
It is also important to take care of yourself regarding your physical condition on the day of the event. In addition to injuries and colds, lack of sleep and hangovers are also dangerous, and we reserve the right to refuse participation.

We will perform a medical history check of your health condition before participating in the menu, but this is only a self-report. We are basically unable to make a judgment on medical matters, so please consult your doctor in advance if you have any concerns.

Q. Where is the snorkeling location?

Snorkeling is conducted at a group of coral reefs called Yabiji.

Yabiji is a group of coral reefs located about 30 minutes offshore by boat from Ikema fishing port in the north of Miyako Island. Numerous coral reefs of various sizes are scattered throughout the sea area, which stretches more than 10 kilometers from north to south.

Depending on the wind direction and sea conditions on the day of the tour, we choose two dive sites for half-day tours, and three dive sites for full-day tours with lunch on board.

In case of bad weather or special circumstances, we may go to the coral reef zone around Ikema Island or other islands.

Q. What do I need to bring?

Please wear your swimsuit underneath at the meeting. You may also bring your own snorkeling equipment that you are familiar with: towel, change of clothes, sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses), and a jacket depending on the weather.

Basically, we lend you our equipment.

We joined the tour just under the age limit, but the weather was perfect and we enjoyed a great time. The Miyako blue ocean and corals were awesome and breathtaking. There was cold water and a shower afterwards. It was my first time snorkeling in Yavji, and it was breathtaking and completely different from other places. The view from the boat was beautiful, not to mention the ocean, and I enjoyed it from start to finish. I participated in the afternoon session on 7.9.2023. The day before, the wind had been strong and I could see wave caps offshore from the hotel, so I was worried about it, but the morning of the day, the sea was calm and I headed to the meeting place thinking it would be fine. There was a bit of wind, so we went to an area where an island blocked the wind for the first dive. The second dive was at the Yaebise, which was the most beautiful sea I have ever seen. We also saw sea turtles. I wish I could have spent more time there. I would definitely recommend this tour. We rented an underwater camera, which was well worth it. The beautiful video is perfect. Your body is rocked by the waves, so if you point the camera at the subject and hold it steady, you can reduce unnecessary blurring. Because you can see the very beautiful sea, coral, fish, and sea turtles, you will end up with a lot of video. Because the storage medium is 15 GB, it is enough. I can not share the photos only videos, but as shown in the photos on the home page of the tour. If it was low tide, Yaehigase would be a pure white beach. Anyway, it was a very nice summer. I was a snorkeling beginner, but I was fascinated by the beautiful sea of Yaebise,..! I was able to see beautiful coral reefs and colorful tropical fish up close in the clear water. Especially, the blue cave in the Yaebise was a mysterious experience as if I entered a different world. The guides were very kind and carefully taught us how to snorkel and what precautions to take. They also gave full consideration to safety, and we were able to rent life jackets, fins, and other equipment. Snorkeling in the Yaebise was a very moving experience, as I was overwhelmed by the beauty of nature. I was also amazed at the diversity of life in the sea. My family and I went snorkeling at Yaehigashio on 3/19/2023. The weather was cloudy and cold, but with a lined rash guard + wetsuit for protection against the cold, we were able to fully enjoy the experience without getting cold. It was my first time snorkeling in Okinawa, and it was great to see coral reefs and a variety of tropical fish that exceeded my expectations. The timing of the low tide made it the best snorkeling experience I have ever had, as I was able to see them at a depth of 1 or 2 meters, almost within reach.

I participated in the snorkeling tour in Yabiji. Beautiful coral reefs, cute fish, and the Yaebisu. All of them were wonderful. And most of all, the instructor was very kind and helped us many times, so we had a great experience. Thank you very much.

I was able to go to the Yaebise, which I had longed for. It was the first time for me to see such colorful corals and so many tropical fishes. What impressed me the most was the kindness of the staff. I recommend it if you go to Yaebise.

It was my first time to go snorkeling, but the guide was very kind to teach me and took pictures for me. We went to 2 or 3 spots, but all of them had different atmosphere and fish that we could see.

We arrived at Shimoji Airport and joined the Yaebise tour the next day. 20-30 minutes snorkeling. We were able to see sea turtles. Also, the guide took pictures and uploaded them to my cell phone at the end of the tour. The guides were friendly and we were able to enjoy the sea of Miyako Island while relaxing.

I could not go there for the past few days due to the weather, but on this day, the instructor guided us carefully and we were able to see the magnificent coral reefs and tropical fish. Yaebise is the best!

Thank you for your help last month. I cannot swim, but I really wanted to go to the Yaebise, so I searched and decided to go here. In conclusion, Miyakojima Tours was the right choice. They carefully let me catch a floatation ring. I was able to see the wonderful sea which is absolutely impossible to see by myself. I will go back again.

I joined the Yaebise tour by Miyakojima Tours. The waves were high after the typhoon and the distance to the coral was quite long, but it was quite beautiful. We were able to see a great number of corals up close, so I recommend this tour!

　We attended with a couple and two elementary school children. 　The staff was very kind to the children, and I apologize for any inconvenience my children caused. 　We had a lot of pictures taken and enjoyed making fun memories.
