More compact than I imagined
"I was happy that I didn't get tired from walking
When I heard the term “complex,” I imagined a large mall, but when I actually visited,A compact layout in which each store surrounds a courtyardSo, I was pleasantly surprised.
Since you can walk through the entire place in no time, you won’t get tired from walking all over the place. One staff member with children even said, “It’s a relief that we can make a full lap before the kids start getting fussy.”
I felt that the compact size of the area—which allows you to quickly stop by between sightseeing activities and easily check out every shop without feeling overwhelmed—is a major advantage for travelers.
I was surprised at how authentic the lunch was.
From authentic Chinese and Spanish cuisine to coffee and burgers from popular chain restaurants with long lines, every option here is top-notch—the kind that makes you feel it’s "worth making a special trip to eat." Many dishes feature ingredients from Miyako Island, and I discovered “dishes I wanted to try precisely because I was on the island.”
With such a great selection of restaurants, you’ll be more than satisfied even if you just stop by for lunch.

"Targeting specific times" is the right approach
What moved me the most was, without a doubt, the rooftop sunset terrace.The Irabu Bridge, the "Miyako Blue," and the evening sky, which changes color with every passing momentThe view, which took in the entire landscape, was far more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.
Since you can stop by even if you don’t plan to eat or have coffee, I highly recommend visiting specifically “just for sunset.” I found that the best way to spend your time there is to arrive about 30 minutes before sunset and leisurely watch the sky change colors.
If you include this as the finale of your drive around Irabu Island, it will instantly make your trip even more satisfying.
It was also great as a "place to take shelter" on rainy days
One thing that can be surprisingly tricky on a trip to Miyako Island is figuring out what to do when the weather turns bad. In that regard, Yard Miyakojima isYou can count on it as a "safe haven" on rainy daysI really felt that.
Not only can you enjoy meals and coffee indoors, but there are also Yachimun pottery workshops, a Shuri soap shop, and stores selling swimwear and miscellaneous goods, so you can pass the time here regardless of the weather. In fact, on the day I visited, I was able to ride out a sudden downpour right here.
It’s a spot worth keeping in mind as an option for those days when you’re wondering, “Where should I go when I can’t go to the beach?”
