During the brown sugar making experience, visitors will enjoy learning about the characteristics of sugarcane using all five senses.
Harvesting sugarcane may seem daunting, but it is a light work that involves hands-on harvesting of only one cane, so even women can enjoy it.
Biting into freshly harvested sugarcane will give you a taste of its true sweetness.
After harvesting the sugarcane with their own hands, the participants go on to squeeze fresh juice using a manual squeezer!
Pour into a cold glass and enjoy the natural sweetness of the freshly squeezed juice.
Using a frying pan, the molasses is boiled down to make brown sugar.
You can make your own brown sugar by mixing your favorite ingredients from three flavors: peanut, black sesame, and granola.
This is truly a special experience that cannot be had in Honshu and is unique to the remote islands of Okinawa.
The resulting brown sugar is packaged in airtight containers and can be taken home as souvenirs.
Visitors can experience making roasted bananas using island bananas.
The good aroma and sound of the island bananas being slowly baked while being tossed with brown sugar caramel. You can enjoy making grilled bananas by sight, sound, and aroma. Sprinkle cinnamon over the bananas and enjoy the aroma even more.
