Irabu Island is a 20-minute drive from Miyako Airport. It is reached by crossing the Irabu Bridge between Miyako Island and Irabu Island.

Shimoji Island has been attracting attention as a new gateway to the Miyako Islands since Shimojijima Airport was renovated for private use in 2019.
Shimoji Island is reached by crossing the Irabu Bridge and proceeding further into the island. The island itself is small, and although it is more obvious than the neighboring Irabu Island, it still retains the same old nature!

Ikema Island
Ikema Island is located in the northern part of Miyako Island. It is connected to Miyako Island by the Ikema Ohashi Bridge and can be reached by car.
The Ikema Bridge is 1,425 meters long, and you can cross it while enjoying the breathtaking view of the crystal-clear ocean all around you. Since the island itself is small, exploring all the sights is one of the best ways to enjoy Ikema Island!

Located in the southwestern part of Miyako Island, Kushima is a small remote island beyond Yonaha Maehama Beach that can be reached by crossing a bridge.
The Kurema Ohashi Bridge is 1,690 meters long, and like all bridges, it can be crossed while enjoying the beautiful emerald green scenery!

(5) Ogami Island
Ogami Island is located in the northern part of Miyako Island and can be reached in about 15 minutes from Shimajiri Fishing Port by regular Ogami Kaiun boats (five services a day).
As the island's name suggests, it is an "island where God resides," with mysterious landscapes such as oddly shaped rocks that seem ready to collapse and untouched wilderness.
Basically, you can enter the island regardless of the season, but not when traditional events are being held. Check the schedule in advance before visiting!

6) Tarama Island
Tarama Island is about a 2-hour ferry ride from Hirara Port on Miyako Island or a 25-minute flight from Miyako Airport.
There are rental cars and bicycles available on the island, so be sure to take advantage of them for efficient sightseeing!

Mizuna Island is a remote island located about 8 km north of Tarama Island (about 67 km west of Miyako Island and 35 km northeast of Ishigaki Island), but there are no regular flights by plane or ferry.
When landing from Miyako Island, you must charter a boat to go to Mizuna Island!
