He has been "stabbing" at sightseeing spots and scenic spots on Miyako Island! This time, we have a special report on his visit!
What is kozee, the man who becomes the pin of Google Map and "sticks" in the earth?
Let's start with a profile of our guest, kozee.
SASARU kozee, the man who "sticks" in the earth
"kozee", the man who becomes the pin of Google Map and "sticks" in the earth. Born and raised in Harajuku. After living in New York City through dance, he became interested in traveling abroad and started his round-the-world trip in February 2014. During his travels, he visited 100 countries over a period of 3 years in the "SASARU Project: How to Stab the Earth," in which he became a pin (the image of a Google Map pin) for places, people, and foods that "stick" in his mind, and actually stuck his head into the pin to mark them.
He is a specialist who "sticks" and is called a "professional SASARER". His travels have been featured on social networking sites. In October 2017, A-works published "SASARU: Chikyu no Arukikata" (SASARU: How to Walk the Earth).
In April 2018, he became a tourism ambassador for Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture, as the "Koshigaya Beloved Gourmet Ambassador". He has also been a radio personality on Shibuya Cross-FM since April of the same year. He is also active as a talk event and lecturer. NUGGET WORKS, a company he started during his travels, handles event production and management, restaurant management, consulting, and catering business.
Stinging Trip" in Miyako Island: Day 1
Shimojishima Airport, the newest airfield in Japan
This was Mr. kozee's second time in Miyakojima and first time at Shimojima Airport. I was stung as soon as I arrived.
Shimojishima Airport has a Southeast Asian feel with its countertops made of terihaboku, a tree from Miyako Island, and its ceilings and walls are made of cedar wood in abundance, giving it an elegant Japanese feel.
Currently, there are only flights to Narita Airport, but from July, there will be flights to Kansai International Airport, and after that, international flights are scheduled to open, with only Hong Kong flights currently scheduled.
Beach "17END" along Shimojishima Airport
Located next to the runway of Shimojishima Airport, it is one of the best beaches in the world, and when you go there at low tide, it looks like heaven!
Depending on the time of day, you can watch touch-and-go and takeoffs and landings of airplanes from close to the runway. This kind of airport is quite rare in the world, so it is a must-see!
It's too beautiful to be stung by the sea!
This is what touch & go looks like!
5 minutes drive from Shimojishima Airport, "Watakuchi no Hama".
This beach is located on Irabu Island and is equipped with beach houses, toilets, and showers, making it a good beach for families and people who want to go swimming! (Above is what it usually looks like)
Unfortunately, the weather was not so good, but it was still beautiful. There were many tourists at this time, but Mr. kozee did not get upset about it!

The last part of the first day was "?
BBQ at the "Machu Picchu of Miyako Island" (the location is a secret)!
It somehow cleared up and we were able to see the sunset and starry sky!
Stinging Trip" in Miyako Island: Day 2
Snorkeling and SUP are recommended at "Ingmarine Garden".
The next day, the sea in the morning!
On the right side of the photo, there is a beach and a small cove where you can snorkel in a relaxed manner without much waves. On the left side, there are several snorkel spots, although the waves are rough during southerly winds, and it is one of the recommended snorkel spots on Miyako Island.
SUP and diving are also available. Compared to other famous beaches, there are not many people here, so I recommend it. The view from the pavilion at the top of the hill in the back of the photo is very beautiful, and although it is a bit of a climb, it is definitely worth it.

In the afternoon, the largest coral reef group in Japan, "Yaebise
As expected, I was not able to SASARU to the coral reefs, but I enjoyed the best snorkeling I have ever had! I didn't know what to expect when I heard that it was the largest in Japan, but once I actually went, I understood!
The snorkel points are reached by boat, which can take from 30 minutes to an hour! It is said to be one of the largest coral reefs in Japan, with a circumference of about 25 km and more than 100 atolls of various sizes. There are many fish, and if you are lucky, you can see turtles, dolphins, sharks, and more!

Stinging Trip" in Miyako Island: Day 3
Triangle Point, a classic sightseeing spot on Irabu Island
I wrote that it is a standard item, but it has only become popular in the last few years with the spread of Instagram. It is so famous that if you look up #Miyakojima on Instagram, you will almost certainly find it.
The entrance is rather confusing, but you will be able to find it because there is usually a car parked there. After wading through the bushes, which is typical of Miyako Island, you will reach a spot where you can view the ocean of Miyako Island from a precipitous cliff. There are no handrails or other fall protection, so please be careful when you visit!
The well-known "Iguana Rock
It is dangerous and should never be imitated!
Iguana Iwa is the second most popular spot after Triangle Point. Like the triangular point, this is also a point from which you can view the sea of Miyakojima from a precipitous cliff. It is more spacious than Triangle Point, but the rocky terrain makes it a little unstable, so please be careful when you go there! Iguana Iwa is spacious, so we were able to find a safe spot to get stuck in!
Ndokubiabu," a cave that was used as an air-raid shelter during the war.
Miyako Island itself is said to be a power spot, and this is one of the most powerful spots on the island. During the war, it was used as an air-raid shelter, but before that, it was used as a place of worship, making it a very powerful place.
It is located in a rather obscure place, so you will probably get lost, but the sense of exploration is part of the fun! I could not get stuck in this sacred place, but it is one of the places I would like you to visit, so I have introduced it to you.
The superb view of the "Makiyama Camp Shelter" attracted by the ruins of war.
This is a war site, a camp shelter. It is located on the trail leading to the Makiyama Observatory! It is dark inside even during the daytime and the footing is poor, so it is not recommended to go there alone!
After proceeding through the pitch-dark cave, the gun muzzle at the end of it is a viewpoint from which you can see the whole west coast of Miyako Island. This one is not so well known yet, so it might be worthwhile to know about it!
